Introduction

Hello everyone, and thanks for stopping back in to the page for another hard hitting review!!
Today is an Iron Bull knee sleeves review.
Today is something a little different- especially for me. I’m not what you would call a power lifter, and I am barely a weightlifter. I go to the gym twice a week- sometimes three times when I’m feeling bold. However, I do exercise in some way every day. That’s where the Iron Bull 7mm neoprene knee sleeves come in.
As you know, I don’t review products I haven’t personally tested. However, as I’m the definition of an “average joe” and not a powerlifter, I also asked some gym friends who use Iron Bull knee sleeves what they think about them for lifting heavy weights as well, just to make sure we cover all our bases.
For me personally, i’ve been using these Iron Bull Strength 7mm Knee Sleeves for several weeks now, across a variety of workouts. I’ve used them for light weight lifting (I’m too embarrassed to tell you what weight im squatting, but let’s just say that I’m an old average joe at this point in my life) for crossfit, and for some high intensity running workouts.
While I did try these out in the squat rack, I also made sure to give them a go in real-life use cases that push the knees in different ways.
Also- you can check them out here, directly on the Iron Bull website.
Functionality
Right out of the box, you know these things are the real deal as they are incredibly solid, rugged, and built for a purpose. The 7mm neoprene is noticeably thick- for those that read a lot of my content, you know how much I love the neoprene knee sleeves of Bracelayer.
Well, for comparison, the thickest neoprene sleeves that Bracelayer has are 2mm, and the thinnest are 1mm- so if you’re looking for something a little more lightweight check those out here- but if you want the big boys, keep reading.
Just by feeling these you know that they are going to hold up, and the stitching and quality is noticeably excellent.
Again, unsurprisingly for this type of product that is literally built so your knees don't buckle under extreme weight, these are quite snug. They don’t just slide on casually for a quick walk in the park, but this is by design. How tight they are helps a lot of things- it allows them to provide better support, keep your knees warm with good blood flow, and gets them to conform to the knee. If you’re new to this type of extra rugged knee sleeve (like I was) the different will surprise you at first, but the extra support is welcome.

Once they’re on, though, the difference is clear. I used the Iron Bull sleeves primarily for strength training like I was told to do- squats, Romanian deadlifts, split squats- along with some circuit work involving lunges and step-ups. But man- even though I don’t lift a lot of weight, I will say that when you are under a barbell with these on, you do feel amazingly secure- especially for someone that already has sketchy knees like I do.
They also give you some rebound coming out of your squat- this is something that I wasn’t fully expecting but really liked.
Highlights
The biggest thing that stood out for me was just how supportive they are- they are essentially between a traditional knee sleeve and a knee brace. Even when you aren’t lifting a heavy (for me) weight, these just keep you fully aligned and reinforced. As a casual lifter and someone who wore thinner (1mm-2mm) sleeves, these were really a welcome shock to the system.
I will say that these are not “everyday” sleeves, or something you would want to wear walking your dog. These are incredibly thick and supportive, and if you aren’t lifting, lunging, squating, or doing something that includes short bursts, I would probably say you don’t need the 7mm version- however, you’re still in luck! Iron Bull also makes a thinner, 5mm version as well.
As I was saying- anything with very high reps or that is more conditioning based (think crossfit) would probably benefit more from the 5mm sleeves- but if your knees are in really rough shape you could probably make these work.
These are also amazing for keeping your knees warm- this is a huge problem for many, including me, as being cold stiffens the joint and increases the risk of injury. The thick 7mm neoprene keeps your knees extremely warm and comfortable throughout your workout.
I also wouldn’t go as far to say that these inhibit movement- but just know that you are getting the big boy with these, and they are built more for support than for agility. However, they are absolutely amazing for what they promise.
Also- put them on inside out and roll them up to put them on- thank me later.

Durability- The Iron Bull Knee Sleeve Way
I wanted to give durability its own section as this is really impressive. These have held up extremely well- not only for me but for friends who have been using them for years with no issue. The compression really stays with you on these and they haven’t lost any integrity for me or for my friends who use them.

The material is really that high quality- this is excellent and thick neoprene that holds its own under the heaviest weight. While I don’t compete in lifting sports, there’s a reason why these are used in competitions. The stitching is noticeably rugged and isn’t going to burst at the seams on you, so wear these with confidence.
The Final Word
I’ve tested and worn a lot of knee braces and sleeves over the years, and the Iron Bull Strength 7mm Knee Sleeves really do their job and stand out for their durability and level of compression.
They offer level 2 compression and give you the locked in feeling you need for lifting weights and are extremely consistent. Even for an “average joe” like me, these are an amazing addition to my rickety knees.
Even if you're just a casual weightlifter or gym goer- don't let that scare you away! These are truly an incredible product for everyone.
Until next time
